OAKLAND, CA. — Not many details have been released yet on just what kind of assault Warriors all star forward Draymond Green was arrested for in Michigan this past weekend. We know that it was around 2:30am Sunday morning near the downtown business district in East Lansing, Michigan.
The Warriors front office released a statement today acknowledging the incident:
“We are aware of the news involving Draymond Green in Michigan over the weekend. At this point, we are collecting information and will have no further comment until we have a better understanding of the situation.”
Green was released on a $200 bond and has to turn himself in 10-days. Being that the bond was not thousands of dollars, one can assume that this assault may not have been all that serious. While an assault of any nature is childish and immature, the severity of this occurrence may not be what people think it is. With a bond that low, it is very possible that Green will serve no time for the incident.
Rumors have swirled that Draymond Green has been released from his position on the Olympic Team in representing the United States for basketball in Rio. More details to come on this as they unfold.
