Dolphins Depth Disappointing So Far

Injuries are a part of the NFL. Every team has them, but the teams that go to the postseason have depth. The Dolphins have already had a lot of injuries, but only some of the players that have moved  into the starting lineup have shined.

Walt Aikens has struggled since being inserted into the starting lineup when Louis Delmas tore his ACL again. Aikens was lost on a deep ball to Allen Robinson that resulted in a touchdown in the second quarter.

Tackle Jason Fox was dominated by the Jaguars defensive line when Branden Albert was unable to play the whole game for the second consecutive week.

When Cameron Wake missed the second half, Derrick Shelby and Terrence Fede both had no impact or pressure on the quarterback.

One of the few who have shined when given the opportunity is Rishard Matthews, who was given a chance to start when Kenny Stills was sidelined in training camp. Also, Jake Stoneburner took advantage in his first game of the season, since Dion Sims was hurt and Jordan Cameron was banged up, catching a touchdown against the Jaguars.
